Coping piece is pre-assembled in the shop and fixed to substrate by screw attachment. The width of coping can vary to meet design requirements. The vertical return shown in this detail is 4 1/8" but different return dimensions are possible. This detail shows a shop-finished full-miter joint mechanically and adhesively bonded with matching color epoxies to create a joint that is virtually invisible which will simulate a massive stone coping piece. An optional corner joint would be a typical 1/4" quirk miter.
